Dr. Edward Ameyaw
Edward Ameyaw is an award-winning public health scholar with over eight years research experience. He holds PhD (Public Health) from the University of Technology Sydney, Australia as well as Master of Philosophy (Population and Health) and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Population and Health, all from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. Edward employs both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies as well as primary and secondary research approaches. Due to his exceptional writing skills, he was the winner for the 2019 Essay Competition organised by the Australian Public Health Association. He presents at both local and international conferences and in 2020, he won the Research Training and Development Assistance fund for his outstanding presentation skills. Edward has consulted for both governmental organisations and international non-governmental organisations including the Ghana Statistical Services, Total Family Health Organisation (TFHO), Jhpiego Corporation and the Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA). He has authored more than 130 peer review articles published in reputable international journals including the Lancet, BMJ Global Health, BMJ Open, Plos One and BMC Public Health. He serves as an Associate Editor for BMC Public Health and BMC Women’s Health. Areas of his research interest include maternal and newborn health, sexual and reproductive health, health service research and female genital cutting. He serves as a mentor to the West African Institute of Public Health, has a strong research network and collaborate extensively with researchers from different parts of the world including Canada, Australia, USA, United Kingdom, China and Africa.
