Dr. Obiageli Nebe  

Dr. Obiageli Nebe  has a PhD degree in Zoology with a speciality in Parasitology from the University of Lagos, M.Sc. Medical Microbiology Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka and B.Sc. Applied Microbiology Anambra State University of Technology Awka,  Nigeria respectively.

Dr. Obiageli Nebe is a Director and Programme Manager for the National Schistosomiasis and Soil-Transmitted Helminthiasis Elimination Programme, Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria with over 28 years of relevant experience in the public health sector. As the team leader of the largest and the most complex deworming programme in Africa, she has attracted millions of free deworming medicines through donations from international pharmaceutical companies. These include Merck KGaA, Darmstadt Germany and Johnson Johnson Pharmaceutical from 2009 to date.

Dr. Obiageli Nebe has led prevalence surveys and epidemiological assessments using different diagnostic techniques and equally organized NTD Preventive Chemotherapy Medicines Administration Campaigns. Besides leading the programmes above, she actively contribute to other NTD-related activities. She has also published several scientific research papers in national and international peer-reviewed journals, and has participated in various technical meetings, workshops and field surveys supported by the World Health Organization (WHO) and other development partners in Nigeria, Europe, Asia and the African region.
