
Dr. Jean Pierre Ndayisenga
Dr. Jean Pierre Ndayisenga (BScN, MScN, PhD) is a Research Associate with the Strengthening Pandemic Vaccine Preparedness in Africa (SPAVPA 2.0) project at the Global Health & Innovation Lab, Faculty of Health Sciences, Western University. Funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), SPAVPA 2.0 is a multi-country implementation science initiative examining pandemic vaccine preparedness across twelve African countries in collaboration with partners including Africa CDC, WHO-AFRO, VACFA, and ECAVI. Dr. Ndayisenga serves as a senior research coordinator and analytical lead, supporting cross-country research implementation, qualitative and mixed-methods analysis, comparative synthesis, and knowledge translation activities. Dr. Ndayisenga earned his PhD in Nursing, with a focus on Health Promotion and the Social Determinants of Health, from Western University in 2023. He also completed postdoctoral training at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto (2023–2026), where his research focused on global health equity, implementation science, and sexual and reproductive health among marginalized populations in Canada and Rwanda. He previously earned a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Leadership in Nursing Education from Western University in 2019 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Rwanda in 2015. His broader program of research examines the intersection of global health, implementation science, health equity, and the social determinants of health, with particular emphasis on vulnerable and structurally marginalized populations in low- and middle-income countries. Since 2021, he has also served as a Research Associate at the Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing at Western University and as a Copy Editor for the International Journal on Homelessness, where he supports scholarly publishing, policy-relevant knowledge synthesis, and the dissemination of interdisciplinary global health research.
