Kudzai Abigail Mukumba is a PhD Candidate in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences with a background in Public Health and Health Services Management. She holds a Master of Public Health and has extensive experience in qualitative health research, health systems evaluation, and community-based studies.

Her research interests are primarily situated within population and global health, with a particular focus on health equity, trust in healthcare systems, and consumerism in healthcare. Her current research explores trust in the Canadian healthcare system among Black Canadians, examining the social, historical, and structural factors that shape trust, mistrust, and healthcare engagement. This work contributes to broader discussions on health equity, culturally responsive care, and strategies for rebuilding trust in healthcare institutions.

Additional areas of interest include patient engagement and empowerment, health communication, health policy, implementation science, and the social determinants of health. Through her research, she seeks to generate evidence that informs equitable healthcare policies and practices for diverse and underserved populations.
